The Hidden Mystery Behind Mount Sanggabuana A Thrilling Story

Wow, Here Are the Great Myths of Mount Sanggabuana in Karawang

***********************************************************

Mount Sanggabuana is considered as the sacred mountain of Karawang people. Mount Sanggabuana is an area of dozens of mountains that form a natural wall in southern Karawang and becomes the boundary of five cities: Bogor, Cianjur, Bekasi, Purwakarta and Karawang. The mountain has an elevation of about 1,291 m (4,236 ft).

#Tombs of Great Sundanese Figures:

So many mysteries surround the mountain, including the existence of old tombs at its peak. Folklore has it that in the past people were often seen flying back and forth to the top of the mountain while carrying a coffin. They flew slowly above the clouds. Who were they? No one knows ..... which is clearly not Supermen or Super Gokil. But since then, old tombs have begun to appear on Sanggabuana Peak. Initially, there were only seven old shrines at the top of Mount Sanggabuana, which according to the Cigentis caretaker, Ki Sain, were the shrines of ancient Sundanese figures. But later on many people deliberately made new graves for personal purposes. This was followed by the crowds of pilgrims visiting the top of the mountain. Then stalls were set up. Since then, the peak of Sanggabuana has no longer been quiet.

#Meeting Place for Magicians Across the Ages :

Many people say that Sanggabuana is a gathering place for Sundanese figures such as Siliwangi, Siti Sondari, Syeh Quro, and Karawang magicians and saints from various eras. It is said that they often meet in a sacred place called Kebon Jambe. In the research of experts from the National Archaeology Center, Kebon Jambe is known as a former ancient human settlement from several eras. This is based on various relics found there ranging from pottery, stone axes, ceramics, menhirs and old rocks resulting from ancient human intervention.

#The Lost City:

On Mount Sanggabuana, it is also believed that there is a Mystery City of Kuta Tambaga kingdom. The pantun tradition tells that at the foot of Mount Sanggabuana, precisely on the side of the Cipamingkis and Cibeet rivers, there was once an ancient city (dayeuh) in the past during the Nagara Sunda period in the 7th-13th centuries AD. However, due to a devastating natural disaster, the city was destroyed, but some of its people including the royal family ngahiyang (disappeared into the invisible world) and they will reappear when Karawang and the surrounding cities experience a change of era.

#Dog Man:

The corner of Mount Sanggabuana is also believed to be the hiding place of a strange creature called Aul. The location is said to be around Mount Cabe Areuy, Wall Ari and Curug Cikoleangkak. Aul is believed to be a kind of human-bodied but dog-headed creature with an upside-down position. Local people call it Kalangkang. About Aul or Kalangkang see :
